Join us at The Shala of Pittsburgh Ashtanga Yoga for a Mini Mysore Intensive with Taylor Hunt April 15, 2016 through April 17, 2016! Taylor Hunt is a devoted student of Ashtanga. He makes yearly trips to India to further his studies at the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) under the guidance of his teacher, R. Sharath Jois. In 2013, after several extended trips, Taylor was granted Level 2 Authorization to teach from KPJAYI and has had the honor of assisting his teacher in India on two separate occasions. Taylor is dedicated to sharing the healing practice that changed his life with others. He continues to inspire others through his story of transformation and accessible approach to the practice.
Taylor will take over The Shala for three consecutive days in April 2016. Each morning (Friday 15th, Saturday 16th, and Sunday the 17th) he will teach Mysore class from 7am to 9am, followed by a 1 to 1.5 hour session on Pranayama and Sutra study. We will take a break and regroup each afternoon for more relaxed, intimate, and highly educational 3 hour long workshop with Taylor.

Foundations: Ground Your Practice (April 15, 2016)
In this workshop, we will take an in-depth look at the traditional Ashtanga Yoga method while exploring the foundational poses of the Primary Series. The standing and seated poses lay the groundwork for the Ashtanga Yoga method and are designed to strengthen the legs while opening the hips and hamstrings. They create a grounded and stable base to further progress in the practice. We will spend ample time exploring proper alignment and techniques to work through restricted movements. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of practitioners.
Anatomy Workshop (April 16, 2016)
Dive deeper into your practice with understanding of functional anatomy and the underlying movements in each posture. This course is appropriate for students and teachers looking to gain greater clarity. We will spend ample time learning about muscle and bone structure to safely transition in and out of each posture.

Align Your Practice: Alignment Clinic (April 17, 2016)
This course is designed for anyone familiar with the Ashtanga Primary Series that wishes to take their practice to the next level. Participants will learn proper alignment and adjustment techniques to go deeper in the postures with safety and greater awareness. Topics include:
• Maintaining and progressing your personal practice
• Philosophy of Ashtanga and Mysore-style
• Working through and helping to prevent injuries with proper alignment
• Reading bodies and learning safe adjustment techniques
